VIDEO DEPOSITIONS: The best way to impeach a witness is with videotaped testimony. The jury can see the demeanor and body language of the witness, instead of simply hearing the testimony read aloud from the transcript. Videotaped testimony can help the jury gauge the witness's credibility.
We use Sony 3CCD digital video cameras for excellent video under natural light situations. Depositions are recorded on digital tape, with an SVHS vcr or a DVD+/-R burner as a backup. For the best possible sound quality, each participant is assigned a lavaliere microphone that is connected to the camera through a professional audio mixer. A complimentary audio cassette recording is provided to the court reporter.

DEPOSITION TRANSCRIPT/VIDEO SYNCHRONIZATION: When using video deposition testimony synchronized with the transcript by LVTS, impeachment testimony can be accessed quickly during the trial using trial presentation software like Trial Director or Sanction II. The video is made word searchable, which makes working with the video like working with a document. Litigators have random access to any point in the testimony. Video clips can be called up "on the fly" to respond to testimony. No more VCR! Simply use your computer. Hours of time spent in front of the TV fast forwarding and rewinding tape are saved. Redaction of sustained objections is also simplified with the software included with your synchronized video.

VIDEO CONVERSION / ENCODING TO VIDEO CD OR DVD: Encoding is the process where analogue video is converted (or digitized) into a digital file. We can encode your video any format you desire: VHS, CD, DVD, mpeg1, mpeg2, or mpeg4. At LVTS, we use a powerful computer connected to video equipment to digitize VHS videotapes. Digitizing involves compression, enabling up to two hours video to be stored on a single CD.
Digital media solutions possess many advantages over analogue media. Video tapes require more storage space, are more easily damaged by dust and humidity in the air and mishandling, and their quality decreases over time. DVDs and CDs use much less storage space and are not sensitive to poor air quality. Disks are also more convenient to use.

DAY-IN-THE-LIFE VIDEOS: DITL videos are made for the judge and/or jury only. We will show them what the daily routine is like for the subject and include any pertinent medical information to show the extent of damages suffered by the plaintiff.
